78-year-old airlifted after truck, train crash – kwqc.com
BUREAU Co., Ill. (KWQC) – Deputies said a 78-year-old man was airlifted after a truck and a train crashed Wednesday morning.
About 9:34 a.m., deputies responded to a crash involving a truck and a train in the 900 block of East Street, according to a news release.
Deputies said a 78-year-old man from Princeton, Illinois, was driving a truck north of East Street when it crashed with an Iowa Interstate train.
The driver was removed from the truck by emergency crews and airlifted, deputies said.
The crash is being investigated.

Blue Margaritas opens second Illinois Valley location in Princeton – Shaw Local
A Blue Margaritas Restaurant will be opening in Princeton at 105 Ave Road. (Stephanie Jaquins)
Blue Margaritas opened on Wednesday at 105 Ace Road in Princeton.
The restaurant specializes in traditional Mexican dishes inspired by cuisine from different regions of Mexico, according to its website.
Blue Margaritas opened its first Illinois Valley location in Oglesby in June 2023. The chain also operates locations in Germantown Hills, Peoria, Springfield and Washington.
The company was established in 2015.

Brush fire near Hennepin Canal brought under control near Princeton – Shaw Local
Heavy smoke blows over Interstate 180 about a half-mile south of the Illinois Route 26 and Interstate 180 intersection on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026 near Princeton. Firefighters put out an estimated half-mile-wide brush fire on Tuesday afternoon near Princeton.
The fire was located near the Hennepin Canal and just south of the Interstate 180, Route 26 intersection.
There were no injuries reported and information on the cause of the fire and any damage was not immediately available.
Smaller brush fires were also reported in Grand Ridge and Ottawa as of Tuesday afternoon.

The Masters Walley Circuit began its 2026 season on Friday, March 20, at the Spring Valley Boat Club. A total of 95 teams were registered for the tournament. The circuit has been running since 1984. Anglers from across the country compete for a chance at winning over $86,000 of cash and prizes. Weigh-ins begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Spring Valley Boat Club during the two-day tournament.

Tossed & Found Resale + Consignment is relocating to a larger space in Princeton in March.
The shop, currently at 225 Backbone Road, will move to 902 N. Main St., the former location of Sean Philip Bridals, which closed in March 2025.
The current location will remain open until mid-February, when staff will begin the moving process.
The relocation will provide more space for merchandise, according to the business.
