OSF HealthCare in Princeton is expanding access to primary care in Princeton with the addition of Dr. Adam Kress, who began seeing patients on Sept. 14.
Kress joins OSF Medical Group, Primary Care at 535 Park Ave. E., offering services that include well-child and pediatric care, addiction medicine, and chronic disease management.
He earned a Bachelor of Science from Loyola University and his medical degree from Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Patients, new and existing, can schedule appointments with Dr. Kress or his care team by calling 815-875-4531.

BUREAU CO., Ill. (KWQC) – The Bureau County Coroner says two people are dead after a crash Thursday night.
According to Bureau County Coroner Kurt Workman, around 8:42 p.m. Thursday the coroner’s office arrived to a crash on 2400 East Street north of US Highway 6.
The Bureau County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to KWQC Thursday night that the crash was a rollover.
Workman said 28-year-old Taylor Steele of Hennepin, Illinois died at the scene and 62-year-old Howard Buckles of Malden, Illinois, died at an area hospital.
According to Workman autopsies and a toxicology report will be done.
The crash remains under investigation, Workman said.

Dan Smith, a longtime community volunteer and youth sports coach, has been appointed to the Princeton Park Board.
Smith, a Princeton resident for more than 50 years, has deep ties to the town’s recreational programs. His experience includes coaching soccer, baseball, football, and basketball, as well as serving as assistant scout master for Boy Scout Troop 63.
He notably coached the Princeton Grizzlies Special Olympics basketball team for 17 years, leading them to 13 state championships. Smith also lifeguarded at Alexander Swimming Pool as a teen and worked at the Bureau County Metro Center.
Currently a production supervisor at Ronken Industries in Spring Valley, Smith credits his commitment to community service to his father, Jim Smith, a former Park Board member and president.
“I’m honored to serve on the Park Board,” Smith said. “The parks and facilities in Princeton have played a meaningful role in my life, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community that has given me so much.”
The Park Board welcomes Smith’s experience and dedication as it continues to maintain and improve local parks and recreational programs.

Female landowners and farmers in the area are invited to attend the 10th annual Lady Landowner Seminar on Tuesday, Sept. 30, in Princeton.
The free event runs from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Warneke Woods, County Road 1835 North, and includes light refreshments.
Garrett Thalgott, general counsel for the Illinois Farm Bureau, will lead the seminar with a presentation on farmland lease considerations. He will cover key topics for landowners, tenants and agricultural professionals, including lease agreements, market trends and legal issues.
After Thalgott’s talk, representatives from the Farm Service Agency, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and Soil and Water Conservation District will discuss conservation programs and tools available to help farmers and landowners improve their land management.
This seminar is sponsored by the Bureau County Farm Bureau, the Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureau, the Bureau County FSA, the Bureau County SWCD and the Department of Agriculture’s NRCS.

Crews with Advanced Asphalt Illinois Route 251 on Friday, Oct. 17, 2025 near the intersection of North 39th Road just south of Mendota. Resurfacing work consists of patching and resurfacing, which is expected to be completed in mid-November. The work zone stretches from the BNSF railroad bridge south of Mendota to just north of Interstate 80 in Peru. The construction will continue into the spring with earth work. Motorists are asked to drive with caution through the construction zone. The Route 251 work between Mendota and Peru will lead to daily lane closures controlled by flaggers.
