The drive collected 1,250 socks and 420 pairs of shoes from size 4-14 for kids. Half of the donations came from Another Child Foundation and Christ Community Church in Princeton. The Prairie Arts Center Gallery in Princeton will host three Art Lessons with Melody Best in the next month.
The first is scheduled from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, on Book Binding – No Stitch Journals. all materials will be provided to create two books. The cost is $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers. All materials will be provided. Suggested materials to bring include a metal ruler, scissors, a cutting mat or a scoring board.
Other classes are Cold Wax and Oil Painting from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 13, and Watercolor Floral Greeting Cards from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at the gallery, 24 Park Ave. E.

Man found dead in Princeton; no foul play suspected, police say – wqad.com

PRINCETON, Ill. —  A man was found dead in Princeton on Friday, July 11, and investigators say an autopsy showed no signs of foul play.
Police originally responded at 11:42 a.m. to the 800 block of W. Peru St., after receiving a report of a deceased person. Officers located the remains of a man inside the location. Due to the condition of the body, police were unable to make an identification at that time. 
An autopsy was performed Monday, July 14, at the McLean County Coroner’s Office in Bloomington. Authorities said the results showed no evidence of foul play.
The Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigations Unit and the Bureau County Coroner’s Office were notified.
The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
