This file photo shows previous road work on Interstate 39 between Lostant and Tonica. <\/span>(Scott Anderson)<br \/>The Illinois Department of Transportation announced northbound Interstate 39 between the Route 17\/Wenona (exit 35) and Route 18\/<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shawlocal.com\/tags\/streator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.shawlocal.com\/tags\/streator\/\">Streator<\/a> (exit 41) will close at 7 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9.<br \/>The closure is necessary for emergency pavement patching and is expected to last until the following morning. A detour utilizing Route 251 will be posted.<br \/>Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered.
