Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Bust in Bureau County – wcsjnews.com

Members of the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team (TRI-DENT) arrested 36-year-old Leonel A. Rosario, of Providence Rhode Island, and 44-year-old Luz N. Torres, of Cranston Rhode Island, Wednesday during a traffic stop east of Princeton on I-80.
The two were pulled over for alleged improper lane usage and following too closely.
During the stop, a TRI-DENT K9 conducted a free air sniff and pointed to the odor of narcotics. Police searched the vehicle and found nine bags of suspected methamphetamine and seven kilo-sized packages of an unknown controlled substance.
That amounts to about nine pound of suspected meth and fifteen pounds of the other substance. The packages were hidden in the lower rocker panels of the vehicle.
Rosario and Torres are charged with unlawful possession of meth with the intent to deliver. The two are being held in the Bureau County Jail.
