The University reported 39 news cases with 194 close contacts for the past week. As of Friday, the campus-wide positivity rate is 0.43 percent.
New congressional districts proposed by Illinois Democrats would split Hyde Park into two districts. In addition, Democrats will receive a significant advantage over Republicans in Illinois’s congressional delegation as a result.
In coffee news, Fairgrounds Craft Coffee and Tea will open a storefront in Campus North in early 2022.
On October 15, the Black Panther Party Cubs (BPPC) announced the launch of an official application for city historic landmark status for the “Hampton House.” The Maywood property was civil rights activist and former Illinois Black Panther Party (BPP) Chair Fred Hampton’s childhood home.
