1 hospitalized after 3 Fuller Park homes caught fire – WGN TV Chicago

CHICAGO — One person was hospitalized after three homes caught fire in the Fuller Park neighborhood.
A fire broke out at a home near 47th Street and Princeton Avenue around 5 a.m. Saturday morning and spread to two surrounding houses.
One person was hospitalized with minor burns at St. Bernard Hospital. Two people, possibly more, were displaced.
Neighbors said only two of the homes were occupied, the third had been vacant for years. The home where the fire started will have to be demolished.
It took fire officials about two hours to get the fire under control. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (KTLA) – A mother is facing jail time after yelling at her daughter to hit another girl during a basketball game in a caught-on-video incident in Garden Grove, California, last month, the Orange County District Attorney announced Thursday.
The mother, 44-year-old Latira Shonty Hunt, was in the stands on Nov. 7 watching her teenage daughter compete in a youth basketball game when she allegedly yelled “you better hit her for that” after her daughter had an interaction with a rival player on the court.
TUXTLA GUTIERREZ, Mexico (AP) — A cargo truck jammed with people who appeared to be Central American migrants rolled over and crashed into a pedestrian bridge over a highway in southern Mexico on Thursday, killing at least 53 people and injuring dozens more, authorities reported.
The federal Attorney General’s Office said the preliminary estimate lists 53 dead, with three of the injured in critical condition.
