UPDATE 11/30: Carbondale police have identified 29-year-old Matthew Hamilton of Carbondale as one of the suspects involved in a Nov. 16 shots fired incident.

On Monday, City of Carbondale police officers located and arrested Hamilton. He is being charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and aggravated discharge of a weapon.
Hamilton is being held in the Jackson County Jail.
According to Carbondale police, the investigation into the incident is active and ongoing. 
CARBONDALE, IL – The City of Carbondale Police Department is investigating an incident in which several shots were fired early Tuesday morning on the 400 block of East Chestnut Street.
At 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, Carbondale police responded to the shots fired call. Upon arriving, officers learned the suspect, a Black male, had fired several gun shots at a group of nearby people.
No injuries were reported, however, officers found a car that had been damaged from the shooting.
