PRINCETON — The Princeton Area Chamber of Commerce and the Bureau County Fair have teamed up to bring an exciting new event to the fairgrounds this coming December.
Home for the Holidays will feature many stunning lighted Christmas displays sponsored by numerous Princeton and Bureau County area businesses, as well as many local families. This amazing event is sure to entertain people of all ages and spread a lot of holiday cheer.
Recently, a contest was held to choose a name for the event. The committee is happy to announce that the winner of the contest is Patty Gibson. She submitted the name suggestion Home for the Holidays. Event committee chairs, Kyle Burrows and Jenica Cole, stated that many people got involved in helping to name the event and after long discussion felt like Home for the Holidays was the perfect homage to the residents of Princeton and Bureau County.
The committee looks forward to making this a yearly tradition for residents and hopes that people from out of town come to enjoy the drive-thru display as well. Thank you to everyone who participated in the naming contest.
Anyone interested in sponsoring or donating to the event can contact Jenica Cole, executive director at the Princeton Area Chamber of Commerce. Email jcole@princeton-il.com or call 815-875-2616. You can also find more information on the Princeton Area Chamber of Commerce website under “events” at https://princetonchamber-il.com/ or check out the “Home for the Holidays” Facebook page.
The Home for the Holidays lighted Christmas drive-thru will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights starting Saturday, Dec. 4. The event will wrap up on New Year’s Day, Saturday, Jan. 1. There are many holiday events being planned in conjunction with the light show and a calendar of events will be announced sometime later this spring.
