PRINCETON, Ill. — One juvenile is dead after shots were fired during a domestic disturbance call, according to the Illinois State Police.
The Bureau County Sheriff’s Office and the Princeton Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance call at the 2700 block of East Street on Sunday, May 10.
According to the release, “officers were advised the subject was armed and holding several people hostage, including juveniles.”
Illinois State Police assisted at the scene, providing perimeter security.
Officers entered the residence, and shots were fired. One juvenile and the subject were struck by gunfire. It has not been disclosed who fired their guns.
Illinois State Police entered the residence to assist with providing medical aid and transported the juvenile to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The subject was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.
The Illinois State Police are investigating, as requested by the Bureau County and Princeton Police Departments. The investigation is active, and no further information is available at this time.
