University of Illinois Extension and Bureau County Farm Bureau will host a workshop for people who recently inherited farmland or became landowners without farming experience.
The program, called First Steps for Farmland Owners, will cover how farmland values are determined, setting fair cash rent, understanding rental agreements and conservation practices and programs.
The session is designed for landowners deciding whether to keep property in the family, lease it to a farmer or explore other options.
The workshop will be held Aug. 4, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at Bureau County Farm Bureau, 1407 N. Main St., Princeton.
