A three-vehicle crash in Mille Lacs County left four people dead and one critically injured on Monday.
The Minnesota State Patrol reports that just before 3 p.m. Monday, a Honda HRV was traveling westbound on Highway 95, just east of 75th Avenue in Princeton Township, when the vehicle crossed the center line. The Honda struck a Volkswagen Jetta that was traveling eastbound.
The driver of the Honda, 80-year-old Marilyn Marshall of Princeton, was killed in the collision and was the only occupant of that vehicle. The driver of the Volkswagen, 60-year-old Jeffrey Geisler on Princeton, and two of the passengers, 16-year-old Steven Geisler and 57-year-old Susan Geisler, suffered fatal injuries.
The final passenger in the Volkswagen, 18-year-old Janessa Geisler, was transported to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale with life-threatening injuries. Neither Susan Geisler or Marilyn Marshall were reported to have worn seat belts.
Road conditions were dry at the time of the crash, and alcohol is not suspected to have been a factor in the crash.
A third vehicle was involved that was traveling behind the Volkswagen, which was struck by a tire from one of the other vehicles. The driver of the third car, 60-year-old Nadean Gross of Princeton, suffered no reported injuries.
